Ather Energy is set to unveil the new Rizta electric scooter and a smart helmet called ‘Halo’ on April 6 at its 2024 Community Day celebration in Bengaluru. The Rizta scooter is expected to have a distinctive design, including flat side panels, a horizontal LED headlamp, and a round tail portion. While specific details about the scooter’s motor and battery are yet to be revealed, it is anticipated to offer a larger battery pack and longer range compared to previous models. The Halo smart helmet is teased to feature a built-in head-up display and Bluetooth compatibility, with more details to be announced at the event. The price of the Rizta scooter is estimated to be around Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom including FAME 2 subsidy), positioning it to compete with models like the TVS iQube, Hero Vida V1 Pro, Ola S1 Pro, and Bajaj Chetak.
Ducati
Ducati has launched the new Streetfighter V4 and V4 S models in India, with prices starting from Rs 24.62 lakh. The V4 S variant offers a new Grey Nero livery and an upgraded 16.5-litre fuel tank. The Streetfighter V4 retains its aggressive design and is powered by a 1,103cc V4 engine, producing 205bhp and 123Nm of torque. The V4 S variant features Ohlins suspension and steering damper, as well as Marchesini forged wheels. Both models come with a range of electronic aids and compete with bikes like the BMW S 1000 RR Pro M Sport and Kawasaki ZH2. The Streetfighter V4 offers four power modes and a new Wet mode for increased safety. Other features include wheelie control, slide control, cornering ABS EVO, and auto tyre calibration. The bikes ride on alloy or aluminum wheels with Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa 2 tyres.
Honda
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has issued a recall for certain models of the CBR1000RR Fireblade and Gold Wing GL1800 motorcycles due to a faulty fuel pump. The affected CBR1000RR units were built between September 2017 and April 2020, while the impacted Gold Wing GL1800 models were manufactured between December 2017 and December 2023. The fuel pump issue could cause the bikes to stall while in motion, potentially leading to dangerous situations, especially at higher speeds. Honda is offering free fuel pump inspections and replacements for affected models, regardless of their warranty status. Owners can check if their motorcycle is affected by entering the vehicle identification number (VIN) on the Honda BigWing India website. The replacement process is estimated to take about an hour.
Mercedes
Mercedes-AMG has unveiled the new E53 Hybrid globally, available in sedan and wagon body styles, boasting a plug-in-hybrid powertrain. It features a 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine combined with a 161bhp electric motor, delivering a total output of 577bhp and 750Nm. The car can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 3.8 seconds for the sedan and 3.9 seconds for the wagon. It offers an emission-free range of 90–101 kilometers and can be fast-charged from 10% to 80% in about 20 minutes. The E53 Hybrid comes with AMG upgrades, including rear-axle steering, a stiff chassis, and a sport suspension system. The interior features AMG sports seats, Nappa leather steering wheel, and a 14.4-inch infotainment system. There is no official confirmation on its launch in India yet.

Volkswagen India is offering discounts on its models, including the Taigun, Virtus, and Tiguan, until the end of March. The Taigun SUV comes with savings of up to Rs 1.30 lakh, including cash discounts, exchange bonuses, and corporate benefits. The Tiguan, priced at Rs 35.17 lakh, offers a 4-year service package, corporate discounts, and cash discounts and exchange bonuses of up to Rs 75,000. The Virtus sedan has benefits totaling up to Rs 75,000, including a cash discount, exchange benefits, and a corporate discount. The models compete with various rivals in their respective segments, offering a range of features and safety technologies.
