The 2023 model of the Hyundai Aura is a facelifted iteration that offers a revamped exterior, interior, and a few added features. But it continues to offer the same engine options, except for the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that used to come in the pre-facelift iteration. It uses the same 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine that powers other Hyundai cars, such as the Grand i10, i20, Venue, and the Xcent. Further, the Hyundai Aura is available with a CNG powertrain. It is similarly priced to the Maruti Suzuki Dzire and that is why the Maruti Suzuki Dzire is a direct rival to the Hyundai Aura.

Also, if you didn’t know this, the Hyundai Aura shares its platform with the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios.
So, if you are looking for a sedan with a respectable performance with impressive mileage figures, a good number of features, and premium looks, you should consider the Hyundai Aura in its respective segment.
Let’s begin reading, then!

Specifications
As mentioned before, this Korean sub-four-metre sedan offers petrol and CNG options. As for the petrol variant, you get a 1.2-litre Kappa engine that produces 81.80 bhp at 6000 rpm and 113.8 Nm of peak torque at 4000 rpm.
In parallel, there is a CNG variant that has a lower engine output than the petrol variant. That’s because less power translates to less consumption, due to which efficiency increases. Speaking of which, you can check out the Aura CNG price on the autoX website. However, if you choose the CNG variant, the car will churn out 67.72 bhp at 6000 rpm and 95.2 Nm of peak torque at 4000 rpm.

The petrol variant is available with a five-speed manual and a five-speed AMT gearbox. However, the CNG variant is only offered with a five-speed manual transmission.
In addition, the carmaker hasn’t announced a turbo-petrol engine for the 2023 Hyundai Aura. You can stay tuned to autoX for the latest updates.

As far as fuel efficiency is concerned, the Hyundai Aura’s mileage ranges between 18.2 km/l and 25 km/kg. Please note that this is an average mileage range reported by the owners across India. But it is worth mentioning that the real-world mileage may still vary with local traffic conditions and individuals’ driving styles. The fuel economy can also differ with the engine and transmission combination. However, the petrol variant also returns good mileage. You can go through the Hyundai Aura price list so that you can select a specific variant, as per your budget.

Besides the engine performance, this sedan has proven to offer a comfortable ride quality. The Aura has McPherson Strut at the front and a Coupled Torsion Beam Axle with gas-filled shock absorbers at the rear. And, gas-filled shock absorbers provide better rideability than non-gas shock absorbers.
This suspension setup works with disc-drum brakes. There is no all-disc setup. However, these brakes can be seen through the 15-inch alloy wheels. The Hyundai Aura has a tyre profile of 175/60 R15. Further, this vehicle offers a steel rim as a spare wheel. Please note that the rim size may vary with the variants. The lower variants usually offer a smaller rim size as compared to the top models.

Features
The Hyundai Aura has a good number of features. Those offerings include an auto HVAC, a vanity mirror on the sun visor (co-driver only), manually adjustable anti-glare IRVM, button start, and an adjustable steering column (tilt function only). Further, it offers 12V sockets, a cooled glove box, front and rear cup holders, a dual-tone interior, and centre and rear armrests with cupholders.

For convenience, the Hyundai cars offers power windows (front and rear), one-touchdown (only driver’s side), electrically adjustable ORVMs, turn indicators on ORVMs, a rear defogger, front and rear magazine pockets, alongside a boot-lid opener but with internal remote, and a roof-mounted antenna.

As for the exterior lighting, the top model of the 2023 Hyundai Aura offers LED projector lights, follow-me-home headlamps, LED taillights, LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lights), and halogen foglights. In addition, you can also adjust the headlights with the headlights’ height adjuster. This feature comes in handy in areas with low illumination. The Hyundai Aura, however, misses out on the automatic headlights-on feature.

Coming to the instrument cluster, the 2023 Hyundai Aura facelift has a semi-digital instrument cluster that shows relevant readings, such as average fuel consumption, average speed, distance to empty, low fuel level warning, door ajar warning, gear indicator, shift indicator, along with an analogue RPM display. Moreover, it can also let the driver adjust the brightness of the instrument cluster.

Asides from the instrument cluster, the Aura’s interior will also welcome you with an integrated eight-inch touchscreen display that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The 2023 model also offers a good audio system with four speakers. It also offers a voice command feature. Furthermore, the Hyundai Aura offers USB ports, Bluetooth connectivity, an Auxiliary port, AM/FM radio, and a wireless phone charger. This is the first time that the Hyundai Aura is offering a wireless charging tray for Qi-certified phones.

On the safety front, the top-of-the-line variant of the Hyundai Aura continues to offer ABS with EBD, ESP, hill hold control, and seat belt warnings. In addition, the 2023 model now comes with a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Last but not least, the Korean car manufacturer has offered four airbags in the Hyundai Aura.

However, the Global NCAP awarded a two-star safety rating in the Hyundai Aura’s crash test. It is also worth mentioning that safety features cannot guarantee a hundred per cent safety. A strong build-quality car with basic safety features will have more chances to prevent passenger(s) from a fatal accident.
